Tournament and Practice Informatin
USA Volleyball Junior Olympics competitions are generally held on a Saturday or Sunday with all-day tournaments. Round robin play begins about 8:00 a.m., single elimination play for the top finishers begins in the late afternoon and finals are in the early evening. Before leaving a tournament site, it is absolutely necessary to clean up our area. Tournament Directors will fine teams for messes left behind. Any fines will be passed on to team members and their parents.
Updated schedules for this season's competition are made available to each player from their coach. STARTING TIME FOR A TOURNAMENT CAN COME AS LATE AS THE DAY BEFORE THE EVENT. Any changes or updates will be relayed to the players by the team's coach.
When inclement weather threatens a trip, the decision to travel will be made by the coach and directors who will notify the team as soon as possible.
It is important to arrive at practice early so that you can get your shoes and knee pads on, help set up the nets and be ready to start on time. Each coach may have additional practice rules; be sure to adhere to them.
Players are expected to make a commitment to attend practices and competitions as scheduled by the coaching staff. If a player is sick, she needs to contact the coach to explain her absence. If there is an unexcused absence (i.e. no notification or not showing up) or several missed practices, the player can expect reduced playing time.
Families are required to provide all transportation.
